Sadly, but unsurprising, about 40% of them are found in the US. McDonald’s has a long history of controversy. 🌐 McDonald’s food products are proven to be hazardous to a healthy human body. From their former fries containing more saturated beef fat per ounce than their hamburgers, to the ketchup consisting of high fructose corn syrup (which contains contaminants including mercury, unregulated or measured by the FDA) & MSG (used in laboratories to create obese animals for testing), to burger buns consisting of 28 ingredients including the preservative BHT (a known neurotoxin which has shown in animal testing to cause cancerous tumors, as well as developmental effects to the endocrine system), McDonald’s food has been scientifically proven as toxic to human health. 🌐 McDonald’s has also had its share of human rights controversy ranging from the use of child labor to manufacture Happy Meal toys, to thousands of recent labor-related lawsuits spanning 5 continents regarding low-wages, poor working conditions, discrimination, & negligence on behalf of McDonald’s response to these largely vocalized issues. They’re currently facing charges of up to $342 million if found guilty in Brazil-related cases alone. 🌐 In undercover investigations, McDonald’s meat suppliers (e.g. Tyson) have been exposed beating & torturing animals, leaving them to suffer & die. There have been long-accepted inhumane & unsanitary conditions in which the animals suffer before being slaughtered. In many cases these conditions lead to tainted meat containing parasites & bacteria, plus countless E. coli outbreaks from meat consumption.
