So I baked my first Aussie meat & ale pie last night from scratch (replaced half of the butter in my pastry dough with sharp cheddar to give it a bit of a kick), and slow cooked my beef with some good ol' coopers ale, added in my caramelised veggies and left it to simmer for 1.5hours before popping it into the oven.
